What is "Aviation Litigation Consulting?"
Litigation consulting is the practice of assisting attorneys on litigation involving complex technical factual situations that arise in the field of aviation. The consultant typically is retained by the attorney who provides representation to the client in the case or transaction. Finding the right aviation technical consultant is critical to obtaining a favorable outcome in your case.

The litigation consultant:

When do I need an "Expert Witness?"
The expert witness serves an important purpose in litigation: providing opinions which will assist the jury or the judge in making a final determination of liability on the facts of a case. The expert witness must be able to clearly outline and explain aviation technical issues in a way that is understandable to a layperson.

The expert is usually required to prepare a report of his/her opinion, and to give testimony in a deposition, which is a pre-trial procedure that involves examination by attorneys in the case. The expert may be called upon to testify at trial as well.

The expert witness is typically retained by the attorney, however, because of the many specialties in the field of aviation, many excellent litigators are not knowledgeable about where to find the right aviation expert for a particular case. AMS has the right experience, knowledge and contacts to locate the best expert for the issue at hand.
