Phil Gibson
Consultant

Phil Gibson is a member of the AMS management team and a highly accomplished aviation professional with extensive experience as Director of Flight Operations, Chief Pilot, Director of Safety and Check Airman. Phil's distinguished management and professional pilot career includes more than 28 years of FAR Part 91, 135  and 121 operations with over 17,800 hours total flight time and type ratings in the G450/GV/G550, Dassault Falcon 900B/C/EX, Boeing 737/757/767, Learjet series 20/30/50 and FK-28.

Phil previously led operations at Pentastar Aviation as Director of Safety/Assistant Director of Operations and was Chief Pilot of ACM Aviation, LLC in San Jose, CA.  He holds an ATP-AMEL, CFII-ASMEL, AGI/IGI, Dispatcher certificate and Flight Engineer-Turbojet.

As a Wyvern operations auditor, Phil conducted safety evaluations of charter/corporate/aircraft management companies on behalf of corporate customers.  He was also a private consultant for multiple aviation operations at Wyvern. His focus was on devising strategies for new and existing corporate and charter flight departments to improve operations management, leadership, training and financial functions.

At Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Phil facilitated the online learning process as a Subject Matter Expert within the NBAA Professional Development Program (PDP) which educates corporate and charter aviation professionals.

Phil currently serves on the Corporate Aviation Management Committee (CAMC), one of National Business Aviation Association’s (NBAA) twelve Standing Committees. The CAMC goal is to raise the bar for all of business aviation with objectives that include NBAA membership Leadership/Management Development and PDP course approval, Professional/Educational Development through the annual Leadership conference and maintaining the NBAA Management Guide and Compensation/Benchmarking Survey.

Phil has a Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Mercer University as well as a Bachelors of Science in Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Phil has also attended IS-BAO training and is now a certified IS-BAO auditor and implementor.
